Description

Description

The Beluga and the Sterlet are two prized sturgeons historically harvested for their caviar in Tsarist Russia, both being native to the Black Sea, Azov Sea, and Caspian Sea. In order to ensure sustainability, the Beluga is crossed with another desirable sturgeon species. These hybrid offspring of the female Beluga sturgeon (Huso huso) and the Sterlet (Acipenser Ruthenus) make a "Bester" Hybrid that is beautiful gray to amber colors with a rich, creamy flavor.

This farmed, sustainable, EU organic variation of the popular Beluga / Sterlet hybrid caviar is no doubt a specialty of caviar tradition. The grains are larger than pure Sterlet caviar, but still smaller than true Beluga caviar. What this caviar lacks in size it makes up for in incredible flavor and smooth texture, with creamy and buttery notes that slowly develop into a lingering, briny, and almost nutty finish. A highly recommended combination for any occasion - Certified, hand packed and quality checked for color, size, freshness, flavor and texture.

Special Treat for Valentine's...

As always this caviar is just the best. I have been ordering for special occasions and it never seems to disappoint. Just a great way to celebrate any event.

First time trying...

This is my first experience with caviar. I’ve always wanted to try it and decided to do so this year to celebrate the new year. Caviar Star did not disappoint! Ordering and shipping was really easy. My order arrived quickly as advertised. The caviar itself wasn’t what I expected. I’ve always heard it was really salty, what I ordered wasn’t salty at all. I was told it would smell fishy…. what I ordered did not. The smell was just a neutral smell, not really remarkable at all. The flavor was buttery and rich. I purchased crème fraiche, blinis and mother of pearl spoons also. Served with chopped onions, dill and a bottle of champagne. The experience was wonderful! I will not hesitate to purchase from Caviar Star again and in fact I plan to do so in the future. I purchased 2oz of Royal Beluga Hybrid - this was plenty for 2 people. I also ordered 2 of the crème fraiche, one container was plenty.
