Mojama & Apple Salad

This is a delicious combination of our lightly-salted, air-cured tuna mixed with fresh crispy tart, or sweet, apples and fresh chives. The contrast of sweet/tart fruit with the salty, umami taste of mojama makes a flavorful topping or sandwich filling. It is great served as a starter or with fresh greens such as wild arugula or baby spinach.

MOJAMA & APPLE SALAD

(MAKES APPROXIMATELY 2 CUPS)


Ingredients

Mojama x 4 ounces, diced

Apple, 1 each, peeled & diced

Shallot, ½ minced

Good Olive Oil x 2 Tbsp

Chives x 1 Tbsp, chopped

Instructions

1. Mix all the ingredients together and let sit for at least 1 hour.

2. Spread on good bread or interesting crackers.

3. Serve with fruity red wine or rose sparkling wine.

Dy cured tuna can be used as a replacement in any recipe calling for marinated tuna fish. Ditch the soy sauce and add a European twist on Asian tuna salads with wonderful Mojama.
