Fresh and Perfect Every Time

This is my second time buying Balik smoked salmon from caviar star, and it’s just as fresh and tasty as the first. It arrived in perfect condition all the way to Puerto Rico. The packaging was great. Customer service was quick to answer my questions. Definitely a great buy!

Buttery but a tad salty

One of the best Balik salmons produced in the US that I have tasted, but I found it a little too salty compared to the milder and more subtle flavor of the European versions. Still a very good option and certainly less costly. Caviar Star gets top marks for customer service, in its follow up of a misunderstanding regarding shipping and delivery dates which could have had dire results.

There are three exceptional smoked salmons I have had in my life.
1). Caviar Star's Balik Salmon Fume
2) Russ & Daughters fresh from their deli in NYC
3) Directly from a tiny smokehouse behind a rural Scottish school house on a firth with fishing boats bringing fresh catches daily.

To have this on New Year's Eve was such a delight. Like returning to Scotland. Absolutely buttery and delicious. Not too smoky or salty. Perfect. I am about to order up another.

Smoke salmon fume review

The salmon loin (fume) was packed well. It tasted good. It was a just a tad thin. I’ve had thicker ones in the past. I would consider ordering it again but would not pay more for it as currently constituted.
